Registry of Italy’s ccTLD .IT Registro.it reported its record achievement: for the first time in history the number of names in the domain zone has surpassed 3 million. This happened in the last days of November, the registrant of the three-millionth name abbigliamentoludica.it is a fashion store in a small town of Eboli, the province of Salerno.
Domain .IT was delegated in 1987. In 2005 the one-millionth domain name was registered, in 2010 Italy’s ccTLD passed a two-million-name mark. Therefore, the rate of .IT growth in the last decade could be viewed as quite stable. As of today, according to the statistics of the Registro.it, there are 3,002,823 names registered in the domain zone.
