Verisign has published in the blog the top ten of the most popular words used in the domain names in November in .COM and .NET domain zones. As always, users are sensitive to the most important events of the month and this is why it’s no mystery that the first place in both domains in occupied by a word (or rather – last name) “Trump”. Presidential elections in the US in general were obviously the main factor that influenced the choice of domain names in November. Among the most popular ones are the name “Donald”, the word “president” and also four words “make”, “great”, “again” and “America”, which form Trump’s electoral slogan - Make America great again.
Interestingly enough, the competition to the presidential topic was provided by words related to marijuana smoking – “pot”, “weed” and the actual “cannabis” and “marijuana”. This could be explained by the fact that in November voting on legalization of medical marijuana took place in several US states.
