ICANN’s Board of Directors decided that the third ICANN meeting in 2018 would take place in Barcelona, reports Domain Incite. It should be noted that corporation’s management is a bit ahead of time, since it’s still undecided where the first two 2018 meetings will take place. It’s only known that according to the corporation’s schedule they should be held in North America and Latin America and Caribbean regions. However, this practice of determining places not in the chronological order is quite common for ICANN.
As for the next year, the meetings timetable is already fully defined. The first one will take place in Copenhagen in March, the second in June in Johannesburg, the third – in October in Abu Dhabi. The next meeting, which is 57th in a row and the last one this year will take place in several weeks in Hyderabad. It will surely go down in history since it will become the first one after the transfer of IANA functions stewardship to the Internet community.
