Domain deals in the first six months: no records so far

The first half of 2016 is coming to a close and the domain business is summing up its interim results. Despite the ongoing domain boom, no record deals have been concluded so far. According to DNJournal, LA.com was the most expensive purchase. The Tribune Publishing Company that publishes Los Angeles Times bought the domain for $1,200,000. To compare, two record deals were concluded in the first six months of 2015: Porno.com sold for $8,888,888, and We.com – for $8 mln.

1.xyz, which was sold for $181,720, ranks first among TLDs, while Purple.co.uk, sold for $155,520, is the leader among national domains. The only Russia domain that entered the DNJournal Top 100 Domain Sales Chart was Emsa.ru, which was sold in April for $9,040 and which is now parked.
