Fox News reported an interesting story of an American woman who turned out to be an extremely lucky domain investor, although she had no real experience in the domain business. Three years ago, Julie Magill from Tampa, Florida heard Donald Trump give a speech. At that time, the billionaire was not involved in the presidential race. But Trump’s speech impressed Julie Magill so much that she thought, “this man could run for President of the United States one day.”
Upon returning home, she decided to register the PresidentTrump.com domain. Interestingly, the elderly Mrs. Magill (her grandson is 16) had never registered a domain before, although she had an idea of how to do it as she was registering domain names for her employer. She paid $9 for a one-year registration of PresidentTrump.com.
In the summer of 2015, Donald Trump officially announced his candidacy for president. Soon both Trump’s and Magill’s fortunes increased. She created a modest website to support Trump and offered to sell the domain. The first offer was $600. The most recent offer was $43,500. The value of her domain has increased by 4,833 times over three years. However, Julie Magill continues to reject the offers for the domain. She’s waiting for Trump to purchase her domain name, and even contacted his family and election campaign office with the proposal, but to no avail so far.
