Uniregistry announced yesterday that it is offering extremely low prices for new TLD name registrations through June 2, according to The Domains. The company is both a registry managing many new domains and a domain registrar offering names in other domain zones. Registration in the new domains .CLICK, .PICS or .SEXY, managed by Uniregistry, will cost just $0.85 per year.
What’s more, registration in .XYZ will be on sale at a record price of one cent. It is difficult to say whether such a decision is justified from an economic standpoint, but it did manage to attract a great deal of attention. Domain investors from all over the world are actively discussing the news. However, domain name renewal fees have not radically changed. For example, the price remains $12.88 for .XYZ.
