Japanese technological company Canon has announced a transfer of its official website to Global.canon from May 16th. Former address Canon.com is now used to redirect users to the new official page. As it is stated in the email of the company, the new gTLD .CANON is closed and can be used only by Canon group companies and services. This guarantees all users of the webpages in .CANON domain the authenticity of the information posted there. Moreover, the company expects that the emergence of the new gTLD .CANON on the global network will increase the popularity and brand recognition.
At the moment there is an official website of the company Global.canon that works in English. Till the end of the year they plan to launch a Japanese version and later a one in other languages.
