Two more dot-brands are eliminated for being useless

In the end of April two companies filed documents to ICANN, which are necessary for the cancellation of registration agreements and renunciation of domains owned by them, reports Domain Incite. These are manufacturers of industrial equipment FLSmidth and Emerson Electric. Both of them, it seems, didn’t quite understand what could they do with their dot-brands - .FLSMIDTH and .EMERSON respectively.

Moreover, the number of domains in the root zone is only reduced by one, since domain .EMERSON hasn’t been delegated in the end. Domain .FLSMIDTH, however, was delegated back in September 2014, however, there were only 6 names registered during this time in the domain and there was no activity in them. Thus, there are three companies now that have abandoned their dot-brands, registration of which took lots of effort and funds. The first one to cop out was South Korean industrial conglomerate Doosan that reported that it didn’t need it’s dot-brand in October last year.
