CENTR association top officials hold meeting in Bruges

Last week, a board meeting of the Council of European National Top-Level Domain Registries (CENTR) took place in Bruges, Belgium. The meeting was attended by Irina Daneliya, CENTR board member and deputy director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ.

The participants discussed a wide array of issues. They stated that the implementation of the strategic plan and the budget execution for 2016 meet expectations. Based on the study results for the fourth quarter of 2015, the meeting attendees noted that CENTR members are satisfied with the scope and quality of the services provided by the association.

The importance of CENTR's greater involvement in the debates related to working out political decisions on Internet governance was also noted. In this regard, the association board made a decision to develop CENTR's formal position on the key issues that the association secretariat will adhere to in its official interaction with ICANN, the European Union, and other organizations involved in adopting corresponding political decisions.

During the meeting, the participants put much emphasis on the accessibility of CENTR information for its members. The board discussed ways to make the use of gathered statistical data and materials of association experts' studies more efficient and in line with its goals and tasks. One of the solutions is the launch of CENTR's new website, which would meet today's requirements and provide visitors with a large amount of various content related to the association's activities.
