Rightside, one of the largest players on the new domains’ market, rejected a proposal to sell four of its domains for $5m to XYZ.com registry. The CEO of XYZ Daniel Negari announced this; he admitted that Rightside’s position disappointed him. According to him, the amount offered for four domains that are not so successful at the moment is “more than fair”, quotes Daniel Negari Domain Incite.
We are talking about domains .ARMY, .DANCE, .DENTIST и .VET. The biggest domain by the number of registrations as of today is .VET – about 3500 names. In all the rest there are less than 3 thousand names registered. It’s important to note that some time ago one of the investors of Rightside heavily criticized the company. According to him, the company spends way too much effort and resources on the support of not promising new domains instead of focusing on its more lucrative registration business. However, current decision of Rightside’s management signifies that the company clearly sees the prospects of new domains differently and is unwilling to change its policy.
