Website ntldstats.com has started to publish registration statistics for the new gTLDs mentioning the country where the domain name was registered. These data confirm once again that the motor activity on the global domain market is still China. From more than 16 million names registered in the new domains almost 9 million (54.19%) account for PRC.
Next of the list are registrants that used the services of personal data protection Whois Proxy, which means that it’s impossible to determine where the registration took place. There are about 2 million of such registrations (11.96% from the total number). The third place is held by the US, which loses to China by nearly five times – 10.88% of all registrations. It is followed by Germany and the UK – around 3 and 2 percent correspondingly.
