Google moves its registrar landing pages to its own domain

Google has changed the address of the domain name registration service, said OnlineDomain. Earlier on the service was available on domains.google.com and google.com/domains, now in both cases visitors are redirected to domains.google. It was the users who first noticed this, later on the corresponding confirmation appeared on the official Twitter account Google Small Biz.

Google Domains service gives an opportunity of domain names registration, also hosting and webpage creation. At the moment, it still functions in beta testing mode and is available in all countries. However, in this case the more important fact is the decision of the biggest corporation to transfer one of their businesses to their own dot-brand. Analysts point out that there are many dot-brands registered during this stage of the program but there are not so many successful examples of their usage. There were several cases when companies shifted their official resources from .COM to their own domain but then returned to .COM. In other cases they renounced their domains altogether not knowing how to correctly use it. It’s possible that Google’s example will change the situation.
