Katrina Sataki elected ccNSO chair

Katrina Sataki, who has been a council member of the Country Code Names Supporting Organization (ccNSO) representing the European region for many years, was elected ccNSO chair at the organization’s council meeting. Sataki is the chief executive of NIC.LV, the registry of the country code top-level domain of Latvia.

Russia’s Coordination Center for TLD RU and NIC.LV maintain close professional ties. The .LV domain was the first European country code domain to use the Coordination Center’s statistics service TLDStat. Katrina Sataki reported this at the 5th International Conference for ccTLD Registries and Registrars of the CIS and Central and Eastern Europe (TLDCON 2012). The TLDStat service is based on the Russian Domains project. As Ms Sataki said at the conference, the collection and processing of domain statistics helped clarify the work of registrars, analyze users’ requests and pinpoint troubles with the domain names extension at .LV.

“We congratulate Katrina Sataki on her election to this high-level and responsible position and wish her success in her new capacity. We know Katrina very well, as she attended many of our conferences and other events in Russia, and I’m glad to call her a friend. I’m sure that her work in this new capacity will greatly benefit international domain community,” said Andrey Vorobyev, Director of the Coordination Center for TLD RU/РФ.
