New domain .CLOUD has entered general availability phase

On February 16th new generic top-level domain .CLOUD entered general availability phase, reports DomainNameWire. Considering current popularity of different cloud services, analysts believe that the domain might become one of the most popular among all new domains. It is indirectly confirmed by the fact that such tech giants as Amazon and Google were interested in it. Nevertheless, Aruba IT managed to get around them and win the domain in an auction.

The prices for annual registration in .CLOUD according to the offers of the leading registrars are around $20-$25. For comparison, it should be said that many domains in the .COM zone that have a word “Cloud” in their name are sold on auctions for tens of thousands of dollars. This is why domain investors should probably pay attention to the new domain.
