Association CENTR that unites European registries of the country code domains has published the report on the 4th quarter of 2015. The document states that as of December 31st last year there were 311.5 million domains registered all over the world. 158.7 million of them are so-called “old” domains; the absolute leader is .COM. 140.1 million domains are registered in ccTLDs. 10.9 million names are registered in new gTLDs. 1.6 million more are the total number of internationalized domains in ccTLDs.

The leaders by growth among ccTLDs of Europe in the 4th quarter of the last year were domains of Estonia .EE and Montenergo .ME that grew by 21% and 19% respectively during the past 3 months. Armenian ccTLD .AM is on the third place – 18% growth. Among the “old” domains .COM grew by 3.2%, the leader was .BIZ – 11.1%. The most significant growth indicators were achieved by new gTLDs, which is easily explained by the fact that they are new.
