Registrar AlpNames is now the second registrar by the number of registered names in the new gTLDs. This was reported by The Domains with reference to ntldstats.com. According to the statistics, as of today AlpNames has 1,026,688 registered domains. Thus, the company managed to beat GoDaddy registrar that has 1,007,784 registrations in new gTLDs.
The result is obviously a serious success. Especially considering that AlpNames was founded only two years ago in 2013 precisely to work with the new gTLDs. For comparison, we must say that GoDaddy is the largest domain registrar in the world; the company is almost 20 years old. It’s financial capabilities allow it to advertise during the broadcast of the final match of the National Football League (Super Bowl). Ad rates during these translations are one of the highest on American TV in general.
However, both companies by are number of registrations in the new domains are far from the leader. The first position is held by Chinese registrar West.cn that manages 2,082,718 registered names in the new gTLDs.
