Thus, .XYZ has beaten the country code for the United States .US that according to the same source has 1 670 478 registered names.
It should be taken into account that .US domain is at least 30 years old; it was launched on February 15th, 1985, while .XYZ was launched on June 2nd, 2014. 1.5 years of activity was enough for .XYZ to beat .US. At the moment .XYZ has become the sixth most registered domain name.
