Last November became the record-breaking month for the domain industry in many respects. The surge of activity on the Chinese market provoked an unprecedented growth in the number of registrations. Thus, OnlineDomain reports that the total number of registered domain names in November amounted to 10.3 million.
Approximately10% of the total number of registrations were made in new gTLDs. 1 288 029 domain names were registered in new gTLDs. This is a record for new gTLDs’ registrations. The level of registration growth in the new domains in comparison with the beginning of the year has amounted to impressive 263%. At the moment 411 new generic top-level domains are opened for registration.
