ICANN confirms 12 cases of data "leaks"

ICANN officially reported that the investigation of applicants' for new domain zones data leaks is over because of the technical problems on the company's website. It was previously reported that the portal addressed to NewGtld applicants (new top-level domain zones) issued users' confidential information which might be used by competitors in response to search queries because of the mistake in server settings. For instance, Donuts complained that, as a result of the leak, its competitors could obtain the data on sums which the company was ready to pay for the domains being in a sphere of its interest at auctions. Following the results of the last investigation steps, there were detected another 12 registered portal users who got an access to the information which wasn't intended for them. However, according to ICANN's message, all the cases are inadvertent. There aren't also any proofs that the received information could be used for obtaining any competitive advantages.
