Digital rights group takes down fake domain

The non-profit Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) has been awarded control of its namesake domain, where the name of the company was illegally used. According to the The Register, the digital rights group's application was considered and gratified by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in the framework of UDRP.

EEF's website is at its official domain eff.org. However, a certain Shawanda Kirlin of Bali, Indonesia (the name is supposed to be fake) registered the ElectronicFrontierFoundation.org. The website spread the malware thorough a Java vulnerability. According to the data, the ElectronicFrontierFoundation.org was used by a large government-backed Pawn Storm campaign and linked to hackers hitting NATO, White House PCs.
