Dot London has published its report on renewal rates of the domain names registered in .LONDON during the sunrise and landrush periods. According to the information, 75,4% of names were renewed that can be recognized as a quite good rate. However, many observers point out that the renewal rates is traditionally higher during sunrise and landrush periods, than during the period of general availability, and, therefore, the rates will inevitably decrease.
In this regard, DomainNameWire tries to present an overall picture of renewal rates for new TLDs. It refers to the information of Rightside, managing a portfolio of nearly 40 new domains. According to its data, renewal rates in these domains are now about 67%, and it expects full year renewal rates to be between 50% and 67%. It is also emphasized that Donuts, which offers more TLDs than any other registry by far, had earlier published its data on renewal rates on the site. However, it stopped reported renewal rates after initial numbers came in between 55% and 72%, that is much lower than it was expected by Donuts which had predicted 80%. DomainNameWire predicts that the majority of TLDs is seeing renewal rates between 50% and 70% over time.
