Verisign has released more information about its IDN transliteration launches

Verisign has released more information concerning the registration rules in its new domains .कॉम, .ком, .点看, .คอม, .नेट, .닷컴, .大拿, .닷넷, .コム, .كوم, and .קוֹם. All of them were delegated at the end of July 2015, and are the transliteration versions of .COM and .NET domains. Verisign had previously hoped to reserve matching domain names in order to "original" registrars could register their names. However, ICANN wouldn't allow it.

As a result, according to DomainNameWire, the Verisign's internationalized domains will include a Priority Access Program which is similar to what ICM Registry did for its domains. Domain registrants in .XXX, the oldest of its zones, have the priority registration right of similar names in new ICM domains .PORN, .ADULT and .SEX. Verisign's Priority Access Program will be available during a limited time, and if .COM and .NET registrars don't register its similar names in the internationalized domains, anyone will be able to do it. Besides, it will be possible to register names in the internationalized domains in the framework of Priority Access Program only at the same registrar where the similar domain was earlier registered in .COM and .NET. If this registrar doesn't include the Verisign's Priority Access Program for some reason, users should hurry with transfer the domain to other company. The Priority period for the first domain will start in February 2016.
