Four new domains having, according to specialists, a good commercial potential, will put up for auction and find their owners in the nearest future. Speaking more precisely, only three of them will find their owners. The matter is in the fact that .SHOP and .SHOPPING were considered to be too similar in sounding and writing, and because of that it was forbidden for them to coexist in the DNS. This decision provoked a storm of indignation and harshly criticized by domain community, however it failed to challenge.
As a result, both domains will put up for auction, but only one of them will be delegated: an applicant for which a maximum sum of money will be offered. In this regard, Domain Incite pays special attention to an interesting collision. By rules of private applicant auctions, winner pays compensation to all other applicants. In this case, Donuts applies for both domains among other competitors. And if it wins the auction, the company will have to pay compensation … to itself, as a loser in fight for one of two domains.
Besides, the destiny of two "technological" new gTLD's .CAM and .PHONE will be decided at the auction.
