The 54th ICANN meeting in Dublin where the key questions of multistakeholderism model use of the Internet management were discussed is over. The transfer of supervision function to IANA from the Administration of Communication of the USA (NTIA) to stakeholder community became one of the main issues for recently developed tradition.
The ICANN representatives pointed out the progress in the discussion of new management model in their speeches. However, despite this progress, the terms of NTIA function transfer can move because there are the disagreements concerning the accountability of the Internetional Corporation activity between the working group representing CCWG's interests, and ICANN Board.
ICANN Government Advisory Committee (GAC) was paid much attention during the meeting. According to the new offer which was made by ICANN Board, a number of key decisions should be made not by a simple majority of participants as it is now, but by full consensus, i.e. if there isn't an objection from at least one participant. The offer was met by GAC members' sharp criticism, and this criticism is likely to be considered by ICANN Board.
