WIPO which is competent for the consideration of claims in the framework of Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) published the report for 2014 and 9 months of 2015. According to the document, there were 2,634 UDRP cases of trademarks owners claims against the domains which, following the plaintiffs, disobey intellectual property rights in 2014. The increase compared with 2013 is insignificant 2%. According to The Domains, 13% of all claims fall on the share of country-code too-level domains (ccTLDs).
As for this year, 2015 UDRP cases have been filed between January 1 and September 30th, that is nearly 4% more than in the same period of 2014. 14% of WIPO's cases are new gTLD's. It is worth understanding, however, that this statistics is incomplete, because WIPO is not the only instance considering claims in the framework of UDRP.
