Public Interest Registry operating .ORG gTLD presented its report on the domain zone situation. It covers the first half of 2015, and states the growth of the domain by 1,3% for the last 12 months. Thus, the number of registered domains in the .ORG zone is higher than ten million and reached the mark of 10 547 247.
Besides, the report states the continuing growth of popularity of the domain in Asia. At the moment, 3,2% of all domain names registered in .ORG fall to the share of China, and another 3% – to Japan. India is included in the list of first ten countries with themaximum number of registration in the .ORG zone. However, the leader with a great breakaway is the United States of America - 56,2% of all names.
This statistics is especially significant for the .ORG zone because it celebrates the anniversary. The first name in the domain which is originally addressed to public and non-profit organizations was registered 30 years ago, speaking more exactly – in July, 1985.
