The first "needless" dot-brand

ICANN reported the creation of Registry Agreement Termination Information Page where the data concerning the ICANN Registry Agreement Determination with gTLD registries for one reason or another one. It is worth noting that the page isn't empty. There is an information on this page that the South Korean corporation intends to refuse its own .DOOSAN domain name.

Doosan is one of the largest financial and industrial groups in South Korea and one of the world's leading manufacturers of road construction equipment. Formally speaking, .DOOSAN is not the dot-brand. Doosan signed the Registry Agreement with ICANN in April, 2014, and the final version of Paragraph 13 which defines the status of dot-brands was approved some weeks later. But there is a point that .DOOSAN can't be transferred to any other registry in the Registry Agreement between Doosan and ICANN.

The cause of failure is likely to become the fact that Doosan didn't understand for what purpose the corporation needs its own domain. It was delegated a year ago, and any names had been registered during that time in the zone, except obligatory nic.doosan.
