Verisign lauched its Public DNS

Verisign announced opening up its own Public DNS. One of the directors for the service Michael Kaczmarek pointed out in a blog post that the service is meant to provide fast and stable Internet connections and also increase the trust of users to DNS system itself. It’s no secret that many Internet providers are willing to “share” data on DNS requests of their clients with third parties, in particular with advertising companies and intelligence agencies. Representatives of Verisign assure that Public DNS of their company guarantees to protect the information about their requests, The Register reports.

Earlier on other large companies, for instance, Google, launched similar services. Verisign service is free. In order to connect the user has to put as an address to a DNS server 64.6.64.6 or 64.6.65.6 on their device.
