The .TOP registry has been on fire adding over 200K domain name registration this week, as The Domains reports. According to ntldstats.com statistics for current situation, there are more than 500K registered names in the domain. Thus, .TOP easily left behind .网址 and .SCIENCE moving into 2nd place for all new gTLD's, being only after .XYZ.
A great success of the domain is thanks to Chinese users, whom it was actually addressed to. The .TOP registry is a Chinese company, six registrars, through which a maximum number of names was registered are situated in China. 44% of all registrations, for example, fall to the share of Chengdu West. There is a feature that users give preference to digital names which are traditionally popular in China. The Domains, referring to registrar representatives, reports, for example, that all names consisting of 4 figures are already out in .TOP. A name consisting of five figures can be registered only with use of 0 and 4 which are considered in China as the unhappy ones because other names are registered.
