Web.com systems are hacked

Web.com confirmed the fact of successful hacker attack on its systems, according to the publication of Domain Incite. The company provides a wide range of network services – from hosting to creation of websites, and one of the key directions of its business is a registration of domain names.

According to available information, unknown cyber-criminals have managed to steal personal information of at least 93,000 Web.com customers. These data include names and users’ addresses, as well as their credit card numbers. Web.com, however, assures that verification numbers from the back of the cards (cvc) didn't fall into hackers’ hands. Nevertheless, the company has already declared that it is ready to provide affected customers  with a year of free credit monitoring service for prevention of unauthorized transactions.
