American businessman Donald Trump seeking his candidacy for presidency of the USA promotion in this regard doesn't miss any opportunity to draw public attention to his person. The next chance was found in domain space – it became known that Donald Trump won domain contest for the right of trumppalace.com control.
However, it is fair to say that Trump had all bases to get into a struggle. His name itself is a registered trademark as is also a part of variety of other protected trademarks, including TRUMP PALACE. Since 2001 under this name elite houses built by Donald Trump's company are known.
The trumppalace.com was registered in 2003, however it hasn’t drawn any attention in view of lack of activity for a long time. In August, 2010, it was bought for $800 by the realtor from the State of Florida who started using it in the work – including for sale and leasing of apartments in TRUMP PALACE condominium in Sunny Isles Beach, the northern suburb of Miami Beach. Learning about it, Donald Trump's lawyers got in touch with the holder of domain and suggested to transfer it to their management. They were ready to compensate all expenses for acquisition and support of the domain to the realtor. However the realtor refused the offer for unclear reasons. Moreover, readdressing to the realtor’s agency website from trumppalace.com was organized, whose activity wasn't limited to working with the TRUMP PALACE.
All these facts were quite enough for the jury which considered the complaint of Trump’s lawyers in the framework of Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) to recognize that domain was used unfairly and must be transferred to Donald Trump’s control.
