Fegistry registry won a fight for the new gTLD .FORUM. ICANN auction, designed to determine its fate, was planned for the end of February, however, Fegistry decided not to wait and settled the deal with other contenders privately.
As always in such cases, the amount paid by the winner remains secret. However, experts suppose that the sum was quite big: at least because Fegistry competed with major market players like Donuts and Famous Four for the rights to manage .FORUM. It is also known that Fegistry is ready to spend significant amounts of money when achieving its goal. Thus, in October last year the company won an ICANN auction paying $5.6 million for the right to manage .REALTY domain.
Fegistry representatives consider their new acquirement as quite promising. Company’s statement reads that there are thousands of popular forums functioning online with which a great number of private users and large companies associate their Internet activity. New domain is addressed to them.
