ICANN board has approved the place and the date of the 53rd meeting of ICANN. It will be the second meeting in 2015 among the three annually held by ICANN. It will take place in the capital of Argentina Buenos Aires on 21-25th of June. The first meeting of 2015 as it was reported earlier should have been held in February in Morocco, but because of the threat of Ebola spread, it was moved to Singapore. The third ICANN meeting will be held in the Irish capital Dublin in October.
In contrast to Ireland, that hasn’t hosted ICANN forums yet, Argentina has organized this type of meetings twice already. It was Buenos Aires that held 48th ICANN meeting last year. Before that one of the meetings in 2005 was held in the Argentine resort city Mar de Plata. Thus, due to Ebola outbreak ICANN had to violate the tradition, according to which all continents hold ICANN forums one by one. The last ICANN meeting in Africa was held in 2013 in Durban (South Africa). Nevetheless, ICANN board expects to return to the old order in one year: it is pre-planned that the first ICANN meeting in 2016 will be held in Morocco.
