More than 120 thousand new domain names are now available for the registration in the .HOST domain zone. They have been released after a 90-day blocking period that was imposed by ICANN due to the possible name collisions with the names used in the internal networks. Collision list of the .HOST new gTLD was one of the largest ones, this is why Radix (the company that operates .HOST registry) calls this new period “Launch 2.0” with a good reason.
Among released ones are a lot of geographic, brand and premium domain names. “Since its launch into General Availability in September this year, .HOST has enjoyed increasing popularity and adoption across the hosting industry”, said Viram Lodhia, representative of Radix. “There has been huge anticipation in the hosting community for Launch 2.0 and the wait is finally over!”
