Radix is the winner of a private auction of applicants that was deciding the fate of a new gTLD .ONLINE, that many experts consider one of the most promising among all new gTLDs. The winning of Radix was possible because of the financial support of two other big companies - Tucows and NameCheap. As Tucows CEO Elliot Noss said while summing up company's third-quarter financial numbers, the three companies will create a new joint venture to administer .ONLINE domain zone. Each of them is contributing around $4-5 million.
Judging by these numbers and potential expenditures of domain launch, experts believe that the winning in the auction cost the triumvirate approximately $10-12 million.
