Donuts registry became a millionaire

Donuts issued a special press release dedicated to a significant event: last Monday the registry has sold one-millionth name in the new generic top-level domains. Donuts became the first among all registries that reached this landmark, which, however, is not surprising: company’s gTLDs portfolio is the largest. It has 150 already delegated domains, 140 of them are in the General Availability phase. Altogether among 2.7 million registrations in new gTLDs more than a third is administered by Donuts.

Heavenly.coffee became the millionth name for the company, reports Donuts.

Marina Nikerova, senior deputy director at Technical Center of Internet, congratulated her colleagues: “One million registered names is a very good indicator. Today there are a bit more than two million and a half names registered in new gTLDs and the fact that more than a third of them are the result of the work of one company means that they have done the selection process and domain promotion among users very wisely. Moreover, not all of Donuts domains are already in the General Availability phase, so the number of names will grow in the recent future.”
