Domain .XYZ is the first among all gTLDs to pass 500 thousand registrations. As of last night, 501447 names were registered yesterday in .XYZ domain zone. Obviously, the result is rather relative: it is known that one of the large registrars, Network Solutions, as part of promotion campaign gave domains in .XYZ zone for free to all of its .com clients. This is eloquently confirmed by registration statistics in .XYZ – among half a million names registered now 377 thousand of them were registered through Network Solutions.
Nevertheless, dry figures show that domain .XYZ is the undisputed leader of New gTLD Program. Apart from it, only two domains (.BERLIN and .CLUB) broke the mark of 100 thousand registrations so far. Total number of registrations in new top-level domains is estimated at 2.2 million.
