DNS root servers contain information about top-level domains and are the basis of the whole domain system. There are 13 of them, they are identified by a letter of Latin alphabet from A to M. The majority of the servers are distributed - a lot of instances are located in different countries of the world. For example, one of the instances of the same L-root server is located in Russia, in the city of Rostov-on-Don.
