ICANN published another report within two-year audit program of accredited registrars. Deficiencies and non-compliance with the provisions of the Accreditation Agreement were revealed in 146 out of 322 registrars (which is 45%). They cover a wide range of issues from resolution of disputes and availability of Whois services to requirements on the retention of registrant data.
However, it should be noted that in comparison with last year’s data there is a substantial progress: the number of detected deficiencies has decreased significantly. Thus, for example, this year 86 registrars show problems to fit the requirements on the retention of registrant data, last year there were 105 of them. Only 15 registrars haven’t passed the check and will be re-tested. The rest managed to bring their systems into line during the inspection. 3 registrars after ICANN’ audit were terminated.
