An auction was carried out last week that determined the fate of 11 new domains that applicants were not able to agree upon among themselves. Donuts added more sets to its domain portfolio than any other firm: it won 6 auctions out of 9 in which participated. New domains added to the already impressive list of Donuts are: .deals, .city, .forsale, .world, .band and .娱乐 (Chinese word, means «entertainment»).
Uniregistry won three auctions and now owns .hosting, .click and .property domains. Two more - .yoga and .garden now belong to Minds + Machines. The winning bids are not disclosed. However, Minds + Machines, for instance, reported that four auctions in which it was involved cost it $5,97 million. This sum is not the price of .yoga and .garden domains, since it includes auctioneer commissions, on the one hand, and release of security interests, that were paid to participate in auctions that the company eventually lost, on the other hand. Nevertheless, this figure allows assuming that altogether the auction have totaled several tens of millions of dollars.
