Eccentric British billionaire Richard Branson, head of Virgin Group, has launched a campaign against cybersquatting after finding his name registered in the Donuts administered domain names RichardBranson.holdings and RichardBranson.ventures.
His lawyers filed a case with the National Arbitration Forum to have the domains suspended under the Uniform Rapid Suspension (URS) policy. Branson also subscribed to Donuts’ Domain Protected Marks List service, which blocks the registration of RichardBranson.TLD for any of Donuts’ other domain names. He paid $3,000 for a five-year subscription to the service. Branson’s companies have also filed complaints against VirginGalactic.guru and VirginAustralia.holdings.
