The Arab Center for Domain Name Dispute Resolution goes live

The Jordan-based Arab Center for Domain Name Dispute Resolution has opened for business. It’s the fifth organization approved by ICANN to administer UDRP cases and make corresponding decisions. In addition to the Arab Center, UDRP domain disputes are reviewed by the National Arbitration Forum in the United States; the World Intellectual Property Organization headquartered in Geneva with offices in Brazil, Japan and Singapore; the Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Center with offices in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Korea; and the Czech Arbitration Court Arbitration Center for Internet Disputes.

Trademark owners can file a complaint with any authorized organization based on geographical preference. In any event, the newly founded Arab Center has no plans of competing with anyone on price. A single-domain case will cost $1,500 which is exactly the same as WIPO charges.
