Yesterday Donuts announced that landrush period came to an end in its first seven new gTLDs - bike, .clothing, .guru, .holdings, .plumbing, .singles and .ventures. During this period everyone could have registered their domain name but at substantially higher prices than now. Almost simultaneously landrush period ended for domain شبكة. (Arabic for “network”).
Summing up the preliminary results of another step of the program of the launch of new gTLDs, analysts again note relatively low interest towards new domains that for now are showing both business and users. 25 575 names are registered in eight above-mentioned domains altogether. Almost a half of them is registered in domain .guru – 12394. (It is remarkable that on the basis of priority registration. guru was the least popular among Donuts domains.)
In this regard analysts indicate that in the .mobi domain zone, opened for registration in 2006, during the first week 110 thousand domain names were registered, and in the domain zone .xxx 55367 names were registered in 2011 the first day.
