International organization ISOC (Internet Society) that dedicates itself to development and accessibility of the global network announced that from January 1, 2014 Kathy Brown would be company’s CEO.
The information letter signed by Chair of the Internet Society Board of Trustees Bob Hinden reads that members of the organization see Kathy Brown as an optimal figure for CEO post in the current situation when Internet faces many new challenges – from government and secret service interference in the users’ private life to the necessary improvement of global network’s management model.
The letter also notes that Kathy Brown has proved to be a wise, responsible, competent leader and had an outstanding professional career. In particular, she was involved in policy development concerning deployment of the Internet in President Clinton’s Administration and served as senior vice-president of Verizon.
As CEO of ISOC Kathy Brown will replace Lynn St. Amour who in February of this year announced that she would resign at the conclusion of her contract.
