As reported earlier, British registry Nominet announced that from the following year everyone could register a British second-level .uk domain name. Earlier only third-level domains (with suffixes go.uk, org.uk, gov.uk, etc.) were available in Britain.
On Monday it became known that one of the first owners of British second-level domain names turned out to be prince Charles. According to Nominet, the registry has delegated first four British second-level domain names, reserved by British government for special purposes. One of them was the domain name princeofwales.uk. A full list of domain names reserved by the government will be published in February 2014.
