Donuts, which became the first registry with ICANN’s delegation of new top-level domains, is getting ready to declare start of the priority registration period. According to the sources in the company the exact date depends on settling all the necessary formalities with Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA), however Donuts managements counts on doing so before end of October.
The priority registration (so-called sunrise period) will be declared for the following domains: .camera, .clothing, .equipment, .guru, .holdings, .lighting, .singles, .ventures and .voyage. It will last for 60 days and during this period only trademarks owners will get the priority right for registering second-level domains. For example, camera manufacturers can be interested in registering their domains in domain zone .camera and clothes manufacturers in domain zone .clothing. By the end of 60-days period second-level domains registration will be open for everyone.
