Yesterday ICANN Corporation declared about delegating first four domains in the frames of a new top-level domains program. Domains .شبكة (Arabic “network”) (International Domain Registry Pty. Ltd.), .online (CORE Association registry), .site (CORE Association registry) and .游戏 (Chinese “game”) (Spring Fields, LLC registry) have been included in the root zone. New domain zones will become accessible for all Internet users after the priority registration period cease which is provided for trademarks owners rights protection.
Four new domains delegation is a result of scrupulous work of ICANN, registries and all Internet society. It has been going on for 8 years in the frames of ICANN’s new top-level domains program. The program provides for expansion of the domain space from 22 existing public top-level domains (ccTLD) up to potential 1400 domains.
