Australian company JetGo has been nailed for an attempt of domain name takeover

World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Commission has examined and left without satisfaction a complaint of JetGo Australia company (Australian charter air carrier). The air carrier applied for domain jetgo.com which belonged to Name Administration. At this nothing prevented the company from submitting the complaint - not even the obvious fact that the domain had been registered earlier than the Australian company itself registered its name.

It’s difficult to say what the Australian expected but the WIPO’s verdict turned out to be as cruel as fair. The Commission dismissed the charges in an unfair usage of jetgo.com domain stating the complaint submission the unfair act. Thus JetGo Australia’s complaint has been stated by WIPO as an attempt of so-called reverse domain name hijacking.
