The International Center for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), daughter company of American Arbitration Association, declined the complaint of Donuts company. The subject of the complaint was its previous decision which stated domains .game and .games similar to the confusion degree.
The application for a new top-level domain .game was submitted by five companies at once including such giants as Google and Amazon. In Donuts they decided to take a different path by submitting an application to .games domain. However Google addressed with a complaint for this application stating the string similarity can disorient users. ICDR admitted the fairness of the pretences. Donuts’ current attempt to dispute the verdict did not end in success.
It’s worth mentioning that this is the fourth Donuts’ defeat in arguments concerning domain names in plural. Just like .games’ destiny, the same happened to domains .sports, .pets and .tours.
