International professional organization of Internet’s development Internet Society declared that the theme of its next conference INET in San-Francisco will be the most burning one for today. What’s meant here is the cybersurveillance programs accepted by the US Government and their intrusion into the private life of users.
Invited experts for the conference are two well-known lawyers with great experience in protection of citizens’ rights against governmental structures interventions. They are: Alexander Abdo representing American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) interests and Nate Cardozo, lawyer of a non-commercial human-rights protecting organization Electronic Frontier Foundation with the aim of protecting citizens’ rights in the high technologies sphere.
«Governmental surveillance programs and private life problems of Internet users have become the news main themes and the subject of heavy discussions lately, - said Paul Brigner, Director of Internet Society North American regional bureau. - We believe in the necessity of an open dialog on these issues and invite everyone to join the discussion of the most themes: security problems and protection of private life in Internet”.
INET conference will take place in San-Francisco October, 2nd.
